Uluru Travel Description

Our small group safari adventure tour offers a comprehensive exploration of the top attractions in the Red Centre.

We visited three iconic locations during the tour – Uluru, Kings Canyon, and Kata Tjuta – over three full days.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987 due to its geological formations, flora and fauna, and natural beauty.

A tour guide will lead you through the Red Centre, providing detailed commentary and revealing ancient stories, myths, secrets, and hidden gems.

This tour offers fully accommodated options, including comfortable twin-share safari tents or the option to try a traditional swag experience with a canvas-covered bed roll.

Itinerary

From either Alice Springs or Yulara (Uluru Airport), we begin our journey towards Ayers Rock (Uluru). Along the way, we make a stop at Mt Conner’s lookout (also known as False Uluru or Fool-Uru), where we can admire the stunning views of this unique red mountain. We also briefly stopped at Curtin Springs for a restroom break before heading towards our campground for lunch. (Please note that only guests from Alice Springs will be provided with lunch, while those joining the tour from Ayers Rock must make their lunch arrangements beforehand.)

We went to the Red Centre’s cultural centre after lunch. We learned about the park’s cultural, historical, ecological, and geological significance. We were excited to see Uluru up close. We trekked to Mutitjulu waterhole and found sacred rock art sites. We listened to ancient creation stories and dreamt of Kuniya and Liru. We hiked to Kuniya Piti. We drove to Kantju Gorge and saw holy sites. We arrived at the highest waterfall in Central Australia. It was terrific, especially when it rained. After a day of exploration, we watched a spectacular sunset at Uluru and had dinner cooked for us.
